About Kevin

Kevin Wells was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas. After graduating from Augsburg College (’04) and the University of Minnesota Law School (’07) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Arkansas in the Consumer Protection Division. He is admitted and licensed in the States of Arkansas, Minnesota, and New York, and is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.

In his role as Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Wells was responsible for oversight, registration, and regulation of charities, nonprofit organizations, and charitable trusts. He was a member of the National Association of State Charities Officials (NASCO) and was an active member of the board from 2009 through 2015. Mr. Wells served as an advisor for the Legal Guide for Arkansas Nonprofit and Volunteer Organizations, published in part by the Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Community Service and Nonprofit Support and the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law.

Mr. Wells served on the executive committee and worked with the Attorneys General and Secretaries of State of all fifty states and the Federal Trade Commission to file suit against Cancer Fund of America. The suit alleged that the “charity” and other related organizations used fraudulent accounting and deceptive tactics in order to deceive donors into giving money to support cancer, which was used almost exclusively to enrich the founder and his family.

In 2011, while still with the Attorney General’s Office, he also served as the sole antitrust attorney for the State of Arkansas, representing the State of Arkansas in a number of successful multistate antitrust actions, including against Apple for price-fixing of electronic books. Ultimately, the suit resulted in Arkansans obtaining their share of a $450 million verdict.

Mr. Wells and his wife live in Little Rock, where they are raising their daughter and son. His hobbies include woodworking, knitting, running, and cycling.

His areas of practice include consumer protection, nonprofit and charities law, civil litigation, domestic relations, criminal defense, personal injury, and workers compensation. He represents clients in mediation, arbitration, agency hearings, and court proceedings. Kevin represents both plaintiffs and defendants in these areas.
