About Kirsten

Kirsten I. Baier is a shareholder with Fowler White Burnett's Miami office.  She focuses her practice on business law, including corporate, real estate, international law and European Union law, frequently representing clients in domestic and cross border transactions. 

 

Ms. Baier is a German native raised in Germany and Uruguay. She holds dual degrees in the civil and common law legal systems, receiving her undergraduate and J.D. equivalent degrees in Germany.  She continued her education in the United States, receiving an LL.M. in International Law at Berkeley, University of California, followed by a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center. After her initial studies in the United States, she lived and worked in Europe before relocating to Miami.

 

Ms. Baier is a member of The Florida Bar and its sections on International Law, Business Law and Real Property, Probate & Trust Law. She is also a member the American Bar Association and the German American Lawyers Association.

 

In addition, Ms. Baier holds a Florida real estate license, and is a member attorney of Attorneys Title Insurance Fund and of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.

 

Representative engagements include the negotiation and completion of commercial real estate sales and acquisition transactions, the negotiation of commercial leases with national tenants and the representation of foreign manufacturers and exporters establishing and expanding companies in the United States. She has participated in complex litigation matters, including the representation of German investors in litigation and NASD arbitration actions against a U.S. brokerage house, and of a real estate developer in an action for failure to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and has assisted with numerous business immigration and international tax matters.

 

She is fluent in German, Spanish and French.
