He received his bachelor’s degree with laude honors from the University of Dallas in 1981 and went on to receive an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984. He was awarded his J.D. with honors in 1989 from the University of Texas at Austin and was admitted in 1989 in Texas. In 1997, he also was admitted to the bar and the U.S. District Court in the District of Colorado. He is a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel in Federal Court.
