Lance F. Taniguchi, Attorney

Lance Taniguchi is a partner in the firm's Honolulu office and is a member of the Corporate & Business Practice Group.  He concentrates his practice on corporate and business operations with an emphasis on foreign investment interests. In this regard, Mr. Taniguchi has worked in the areas of forming the appropriate investment vehicles, licensing intellectual and industrial property rights, effecting the registration of foreign companies, assisting with immigration applications, and preparing distributorship agreements. He also worked on such matters for three years in Japan with a Japanese law firm.  Mr. Taniguchi has also worked in the area of construction law.

Real Estate Developer Has represented a real property development corporation in connection with all aspects regarding the acquisition of a $33 million dollar leasehold property.

Automobile Distributor Has represented a U.S. distributor subsidiary of a major Japanese car manufacturer in dealership arrangements and agreements. Also has represented client distributor in all aspects of sale and purchase of dealerships.

Construction Has represented a major Hawaii construction company in all aspects of its operations, including licensing, contract preparation and review, and providing advice regarding mechanics liens and litigation.

Electronics Manufacturer Has represented a major Japanese electronics firm in planning for its operations in Hawaii. Prepared documentation to obtain Hawaii State Department of Taxation letter regarding exemption from the use tax.

Retailer Has represented large retailer in Japan with international licensing, distributorship and purchasing agreements. Also has assisted client in the hiring of sports figures, coaches and others for retailer's professional sports clubs.

Airlines Has represented a major Japan airline in all aspects of establishing and maintaining an operation in Hawaii.

Real Estate Has represented foreign investors and advised investors regarding form of investment entity for and financing of single family/multiplex residential development.

Japan Government Has represented Japan government regarding certain aspects of its construction of a telescope on Mauna Kea on the Big Island. Has assisted quasi-governmental agency in determining government regulation in operating foreign satellite tracking station.

Acquisitions Has assisted foreign investors in their acquisition of investments in Hawaii, including, establishing acquiring entity, assisting in the filing of all relevant governmental reports, and assisting clients effect proper business entity procedures and compliance

Immigration Has assisted clients in obtaining appropriate non-immigrant visas for clients' personnel to work in their United States operations.
