About Laura
Laura Porter is an associate attorney with Rhodes Vela and was previously an associate in the law firm of Lyons & Rhodes, P.C.
Mrs. Porter graduated from the University of Texas - Pan American in 1998 and received her J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 2001. Mrs. Porter has been practicing law for 7 years and provides the Rhodes Vela team with experience in civil litigation, including complex litigation and civil trial work, as well as appellate law experience. Mrs. Porter currently has two cases pending before the Supreme Court of Texas. Additionally, she has participated in cases in litigation in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
Mrs. Porter has assisted in jury verdicts and settlements including one of the largest jury verdicts in United States history.
Mrs. Porter is admitted to practice in the following courts: Texas Courts, the United States District Court, Western District of Texas, and the New Mexico Courts.
She is an active member of numerous professional organizations including the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, San Antonio Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Bexar County Women's Bar Association, and she is presently the Secretary for the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association.
