About Lawrence
Lawrence P. Hampton has worked with GILBERT & GILBERT since 2000. His practice areas include business and personal injury litigation, estate planning, wills, and probate, as well as business and commercial law issues involving contract disputes, contract interpretation and negotiation, licensing, copyright, and trademark.
Mr. Hampton received his A.B. with honors from The University of Chicago in 1979, and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University in 1985, where he served as an Executive Editor of the Case Western Reserve Law Review. He is the recipient of a number of awards and academic honors in writing, including from the American Bar Association. He is a contributing author to legal treatises and practice guides, including the Texas Family Law Litigation Guide (Matthew Bender/Lexis), Adoption Law & Practice (Matthew Bender/Lexis), and others. He has also authored several articles that have appeared in academic and professional journals.
In 1999, Mr. Hampton was appointed to the faculty of Rice University where he serves as a Lecturer in the Practice of Management at the Jones Graduate School of Management. He has been a guest lecturer in Rice University undergraduate business courses on subjects related to business organizational structures and intellectual property concerns of start-up businesses.
Mr. Hampton is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice before all Texas state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Houston Bar Association.
