The IRS has a type of Offer in Compromise called an effective tax administration offer which allows you to compromise a taxpayer's liability for less than the amount that would normally be required (their reasonable collection potential). I have had two effective tax administration offers accepted. Both of my clients were able to stay in their homes, which were almost fully paid off. This type of offer is extremely difficult to get approved and is rarely accepted.

I am attentive to my clients. I respond to their emails or phone calls quickly and keep them informed of the progress of their case. I am honest with my clients and do not lead them to believe that they will get a better result then what they realistically can get. This is a huge problem in the tax resolution field. Many of the places you see advertised on tv make unrealistic promises and then fail to deliver.

Particularly in tax where there are so many places advertised on tv that are not qualified to handle tax problems, clients with a tax issue need someone who is experienced and who handles the cases personally. Many tax firms pass clients off to less experienced paralegals. In addition, clients need a lawyer who is responsive to their needs. They need to respond to questions or calls from their clients in a timely manner. Clients also need an attorney that will keep them informed throughout their case.

I can discuss the various types of collection alternatives available to a client and in most cases am able to get enough information from the prospective client to let them know the most viable options available to resolve their cases.

In cases of a liability owed:The reason for the tax liability and n estimate of the amount of the liability. In cases where a financial statement will need to be submitted, a rough idea of the clients income, expenses, and assets.

I handle all my cases personally. I do not pass the work off to a paralegal that does not have the required expertise. Tax law is all I have ever done. I have had two effective tax administration (ETA) offers approved by the IRS. Most lawyers never have even one ETA offer approved. I am available nights and weekends, which is when most of my clients have the time to speak or meet.

I am able to help clients resolve what is a very stressful situation so that they can move forward with their financial future back on track. I have helped clients save their home or stop a levy on their paycheck, social security, or bank account that is causing a severe financial hardship.

I do a great deal of pro bono work. There are many taxpayers who just cannot afford to hire an attorney. I try to answer as many questions as I can or provide guidance to taxpayers that would otherwise be left to try and figure out how to move forward on their own.
