About Lisa
Lisa Weissman-Ward is a 2006 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Political Science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Ms. Weissman-Ward joined Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale, LLP in September of 2006. While in law school, she worked for the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies (San Francisco, CA), the Latin American Institute for Human Rights and the Environment (San Jose, Costa Rica) and with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (Washington, DC). During law school, she also participated in the externship program and spent a semester with Legal Aid Society of North Carolina, representing low-income individuals in a range of civil matters. She participated in the criminal clinic program and spent her entire third year of law school representing low-income juveniles in criminal proceedings.
Prior to law school Ms. Weissman-Ward worked for Equal Justice Works (Washington, DC) and for the Orange County Rape Crisis Center (Chapel Hill, North Carolina).
