Questions & Answers

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

First, a client must feel extremely comfortable and confident in the family law attorney that they choose. Navigating through the Family Court is not an easy task. It is stressful; it is uneasy; and a client should feel as ease knowing that their attorney is competent and capable and has the experience in the Family Court. Once you are comfortable with your attorney, you are open to receive the correct advise and the process becomes less stressful. Knowing that your lawyer has had over twenty-six years of experience as an attorney who devotes most of their practice in the Family Court, will address the issue of competency and knowledge of the Family Court. Again, the process is not easy. It takes an experience attorney that can address a client's concerns such as alimony and child support. I worked for the State of Rhode Island Child Support Enforcement for almost nine years. My employment with the State in enforcing child support orders gives me the status of being experienced in this area. Lastly, a client should know that their attorney is dedicated to them. The attorney will return their telephone calls in a timely fashion as well as sending them all the information that they need to know before going to court. As a Family Law attorney, I am dedicated to my clients. I form a bond with them and treat them with dignity and kindness. I want my clients to know and feel that I am dedicated to them; their family law case; and to any and all questions that concerns their well-being for now and for the future.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I am also a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher. I have been practicing vinyasa yoga for 14 years and I have been teaching yoga for the past three years. Yoga has kept me focused and calm throughout my days. It has also enhanced my productivity with my family law clients. I become more present when meeting with them and when we go to court. Yoga has brought stillness and patience to my practice of law. Being completely focused in difficult situations is sometimes very hard to do. Practicing yoga for fourteen years has enhanced my ability to concentrate completely on the case at hand and to offer my clients due diligence and more importantly more compassion.
