About Lois

Lois Murphy graduated from Harvard College, magna cum laude, in 1984 and from Harvard Law School, cum laude, in 1987. From 1987-1989, she was a law clerk for the Honorable George Pratt of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  From 1989 to 1990, she served in the U.S. Justice Department, Civil Division. Lois practiced as associate counsel to the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League in Washington, DC, and later as an associate in the personal law section of Morgan Lewis from 1993 through 1996, before joining Heckscher, Teillon, Terrill and Sager in 1997. In 2004 and 2006, Lois was a candidate for United States Congress in Pennsylvania's 6th District. From 2007 through January 2009, Lois worked for Governor Ed Rendell as the Regional Director of the Governor's Action Team, focusing on economic development in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Lois is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia, in addition to Pennsylvania.
