About Lori
Lori is an attorney with the firm of Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd., located in Maple Grove, Minnesota. She is a member of the firm's Estate Planning Department which boasts more than 25 years of experience counseling individuals and families. Lori practices principally in the areas of:
- Estate planning
- Conservatorships and guardianships
- Probate, estate and trust administration
- Elder law
Lori helps clients protect their assets for the future and plan for the ongoing financial needs of a spouse, children or other family members, including planning for the needs of a disabled spouse or child. Understanding that planning for the inevitable can be emotionally difficult for some people, Lori uses her experience and expertise to help clients understand the benefits of planning ahead for either incapacity or death, ensuring that their assets are properly protected or distributed according to their wishes.
Close to her heart is her work involving conservatorships and guardianships. Lori has extensive experience assisting clients with the appointment of a guardian and/or conservator for a family member who is incapacitated and can no longer help themselves, and representing guardians and conservators once the court appoints them. Lori is actively involved with the Minnesota Association for Guardianship and Conservatorship (MAGiC) and serves on the board of its quarterly publication. She is a frequent speaker on topics associated with conservatorship and guardianship issues, long-term care planning, and estate planning and administration, and has authored several articles on these topics as well.
Lori's approach to the practice of law is truly client focused. She prides herself on communicating with clients openly and often, being extremely responsive to their needs, anticipating issues that may arise, and providing appropriate advice and counsel efficiently.
Her practice is heavily concentrated in drafting wills and trusts, as well as other estate planning documents. Lori also helps clients with issues involving probate administrations and medical assistance planning.
She is admitted to practice in all Minnesota and South Dakota state courts. Lori has been appointed to serve on the Elder Law Section Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association for a term ending in 2010. She is a member of the Probate and Trust section of the Hennepin County Bar Association and Minnesota and South Dakota State Bar Associations, as well as a member of Minnesota Women Lawyers.
Born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, Lori received her B.A. from Iowa State University and her law degree from Drake Law School. She practiced with another Twin Cities law firm prior to joining Henningson & Snoxell in 2007. She lives in Maple Grove with her family and is active in their church and in her son's extracurricular school activities.
