VERDICTS & SETTLEMENTS:
In her second year of practice, Ms. Roberts served as co-chair in two civil trials that went to verdict. The first case involved a dangerous condition at a commercial property. Ms. Roberts and her co-counsel secured a verdict for the Plaintiff in the Van Nuys branch of the Los Angeles Superior Court. The second matter involved a claim of medical malpractice against a group of health care providers for failure to diagnose and treat the Plaintiff’s broken wrist. At trial, there was a 12-0 determination of negligence though the jury was unable to agree on the issue of causation after deliberating for four days. Ms. Roberts obtained a post-trial settlement for the Plaintiff where before trial there had been no offer.
Ms. Roberts has also been instrumental in the settlement of a number of civil cases involving wrongful death, severe personal injury, premises liability, medical malpractice and insurance bad faith.
