About Mö

Born and raised on the Michigan–Indiana border, Morgan attended Middle Tennessee State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a Pre-Law concentration. She later relocated to Pennsylvania to attend Widener University Commonwealth Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor. While in law school, Morgan received a Certificate of Distinction for Pro Bono Legal Services and served as President of the Women’s Law Caucus and Secretary of OutLaw.

While pursuing her legal education, Morgan gained experience through internships with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and MidPenn Legal Services, as well as clerkships with several Central Pennsylvania law firms. These experiences provided her with a strong foundation in litigation, estate planning, client advocacy, and legal research. Morgan is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.

Outside of the office, Morgan enjoys spending time with her fiancé and family, reading, baking, playing video games, and trying new coffee shops and local restaurants.

Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I recently had the amazing opportunity to assist with an adoption where I was able to see a group of people truly become a family and help a child find their forever home. It was an incredibly meaningful experience and one that will stay with me forever.

Family law often means helping people through some of the most difficult and emotional moments of their lives, but adoption gave me the opportunity to be part of one of the happiest. I was able to guide the family through the legal process and help them reach the moment they had been working toward having their family legally and permanently recognized.

Seeing the happiness and sense of finality that came with completing the adoption reminded me how much of an impact our work as attorneys can have beyond the courtroom. Knowing that I played even a small part in bringing a family together and helping a child find a permanent, loving home was incredibly rewarding. It is one of those cases that I know I will remember throughout my career.

How did you build a successful practice?

I have built my practice by focusing on relationships, communication, and providing clients with the kind of representation I would want if I were facing an important legal issue of my own.

Family law is very personal. My clients are trusting me with issues involving their children, their finances, their homes, and their families. I don't take that trust lightly. I make communication a priority and try to ensure that my clients understand what is happening in their case, what their options are, and why I am recommending a particular course of action.

I have also built my practice around collaboration. I believe clients receive better representation when their attorney listens to them and involves them in developing the strategy for their case. I approach each matter as a partnership with my client rather than assuming that the same solution works for everyone.

That collaborative approach also extends to opposing counsel and the other professionals involved in a case. Family-law matters are already emotional, and creating unnecessary conflict can make them more difficult and expensive for everyone involved. When an issue can be resolved through productive communication, I work hard to do that. When litigation is necessary to protect my client's interests, I am equally prepared to advocate for them in court.

Ultimately, I believe my practice has grown because clients know that I will listen to them, communicate with them, and take their concerns seriously. Building that trust one client at a time has been the foundation of my practice.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for an attorney who not only understands the law, but also takes the time to understand them and what they hope to accomplish. This is especially important in family law, where every family and every situation is different. I believe clients should feel comfortable communicating openly with their attorney, asking questions, and being involved in the decisions that affect their case. A good attorney should be responsive, honest about what to expect, and willing to work collaboratively with the client to develop a strategy that fits their particular circumstances.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge can be extremely important. While the law may be the same throughout Pennsylvania, every county and courtroom has its own procedures and practices. Understanding the local court system, how cases typically proceed, and what a particular court expects can help an attorney better prepare a client and develop an effective strategy. It also helps to have professional and collaborative relationships with the attorneys and other professionals you regularly encounter in the local legal community.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

During an initial consultation, I can help someone better understand the legal issues they may be facing, what options may be available to them, and what the next steps in the process could look like. I also try to give potential clients a realistic understanding of what an attorney can and cannot accomplish for them. The consultation is an opportunity to answer initial questions and determine whether my experience and approach are a good fit for the person's needs.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I generally need to understand what brought the person to an attorney, what has happened so far, whether there are any existing court cases or orders, and what they would ultimately like to accomplish. It is also important to know about any upcoming hearings or deadlines. I don't expect someone to know every legal detail or have everything perfectly organized before calling. Part of my job is asking the right questions so that I can identify what information is important and determine how I may be able to help.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I place a strong emphasis on communication and collaboration. I want my clients to understand what is happening in their case and why, rather than feeling as though decisions are simply being made for them. I work collaboratively with my clients when developing a strategy and try to remain accessible when questions or concerns arise.

I also believe that being collaborative with opposing counsel and the other parties involved in a case can often produce better results, particularly in family law. Being cooperative does not mean that I will not advocate strongly for my client. It means recognizing when a problem can be solved through productive communication and when it requires litigation.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help people through some of the most difficult and personal moments of their lives. Family law is incredibly personal and intimate. Clients often come to me when their family, their children, their home, or the future they had envisioned is changing dramatically. Being able to help someone understand the process, advocate for what matters to them, and get to a place where they can move forward with their life is extremely rewarding.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Outside of practicing law, I enjoy painting, reading, and spending time with my pets. I also enjoy exploring local restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. Supporting small businesses is important to me, so I particularly enjoy discovering new locally owned businesses in the community.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes. I enjoy participating in community outreach and volunteering at local events and with organizations such as Pride events and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Being involved in the community is important to me both personally and professionally. I also make an effort to support the community in my everyday life by patronizing locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, and other small businesses whenever I can.
