Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I recently had the privilege of representing a woman in her mid 60\'s. She was injured while walking across a parking lot and fell, sustaining a severe neck injury. The client was very worried about maintaining her independence and being able to live at home. I was able to secure a substantial settlement, in excess of $1,000,000, which ensured that she would have funds available to care for her at home.

How did you build a successful practice?

In our community, word of mouth recommendations from existing clients mean so much and after practicing for over 29 years, I have been fortunate that my clients regularly recommend me to their friends and family.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Knowledge and expertise in the field in which they are searching for an attorney, a willingness to actually listen to the client\'s concerns and patiently answer questions they may have, responsiveness in responding to client calls and messages and a level of comfort that they will enjoy working with the attorney they have chosen!

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

As a trial attorney whose job it is to present cases to juries, knowledge of the local area is critical as jurors are drawn from the surrounding area.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I can usually determine whether a case has merit, though this sometimes does require additional investigation.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

In handling a personal injury case, it is important to be provided the name of the potential party responsible for the injuries sustained, though, depending on the nature of the case, that also may need to be investigated. Always helpful to any analysis are photos of the accident scene, photos of injuries or damage to property involved, and the names of any witnesses to the accident.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I am very responsive to my clients and return calls and messages as soon as I possibly can. Rarely will a day pass by without my returning a client\'s phone call.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Making things simpler for my clients - it makes me happy to see the relief I see when I tell them that I will handle issues arising with insurance or explaining complex issues in a way that make sense to them.
