About Margaret
Attorney Margaret H. Kreiner has over twenty years of Elderlaw experience (Elderlaw is the area of the law that deals with the many unique problems that we face as we become older). This includes areas such as Probate, Wills, Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney for Healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid, housing issues, Financial exploitation, Social Security Disability, Guardianships, personal assistance to the elderly with long term care, Social Security, Estate Planning, caregiver’s problems (Alzheimer’s disease, depression, dementia, etc...), spousal impoverishment, and grandparent’s rights.
Attorney Kreiner attended Kent State University and received her B.S. degree in Chemistry. She also received her M.B.A and J.D. degrees from the University of Akron. Margaret Kreiner has written articles that have been published by the American Bar Association, Mature Living Magazine, Women’s Journal, Long Term Care Insurance, and Handbook for Guardians; and for the Ohio Bar Association, the Florida Elderlaw chapter for the Elderlaw Handbook. Attorney Kreiner is a mediator for the Summit County Probate Court, the Better Business Bureau [also arbitrator], and the Domestic Relations Summit County Court. She received her certification in the field of Elder Law by the State of Florida and the National Elderlaw Foundation, and approved by the State of Ohio. She is a member of the Akron Bar (member committees: Probate Committee), Volunteer Hospice Attorney, the Ohio State Bar (member committees: General Practice, Tax and Probate sections), and the American Bar (membership committees: Probate and Taxation sections) Associations, the Florida Bar (member committee, Elder Law Section), the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, including the Ohio NAELA Chapter, and the Ohio State Bar College. Past member of the Board of Directors of OASIS (Older Senior Information Services) since 1994 and served as it’s chairperson; and the Women’s Board of the Cleveland Natural History Museum.
