Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I have made a difference in many cases. Particularly in the area of helping people settle their cases without spending a lot of money on attorneys and also by fighting for the rights of parents to see their children and have reasonable visitation.
How did you build a successful practice?
All word of mouth. I get many referrals from past clients. I get many referrals from other attorneys and employees of the courts.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Honesty and competence. You want an attorney that is going to tell you the honest truth about your case, not just what you want to hear in order for you to sign up with that attorney. You also want an attorney that knows how to fight in court if that becomes necessary. The judge is going to need evidence to help him or her decide your case. A lawyer must know the rules of court and the rules of evidence to competently represent you.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Very important. Every Judge in Palm Beach County is different. Clients must be aware of each judge's style and how each judge conducts his or her courtroom. Some judges are more formal than others. Clients must be aware of how to behave in a courtroom and proper attire etc. Also it helps to know the clerks, and the other lawyers. This knowledge is helpful in helping people resolve their cases efficiently.

If it's a new dissolution matter or a post judgment case.

As a former Public Defender I have substantial litigation experience. I have represented hundreds of persons in simple matters to highly complex. I have an established network of forensic accountants, therapists, private investigators etc.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Helping people resolve their differences amicably, especially when there is children involved.
