About Marie
Marie J. Trijo is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the Insurance Fraud and General Liability Practice Groups. She handles a variety of complex matters including Life, Health, and Disability insurance, coverage claims, bad faith and extra contractual damages claims, and general negligence law.
Ms. Trijo received her B.A. in 2005 from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana and her J.D. in 2008 from Temple University's James E. Beasley School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Trijo competed with Temple's National Trial Team, winning the regional championship of the American Association for Justice Trial Competition in 2007 and 2008. She finished as a semi-finalist and quarter-finalist, in 2007 and 2008 respectively, at the national competition. Additionally, Ms. Trijo has won several awards including the Edwin L. Scherlis Scholarship for Trial Advocacy and the Barrister's Award for Outstanding Trial Advocacy in 2007, and the Center for Forensic Economic Studies' Most Promising Civil Litigator award in 2008.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Trijo interned at the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit of the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office. She was also a judicial intern in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas for the Honorable Anthony J. DeFino and the Honorable Rayford Allen Means.
Ms. Trijo is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is also admitted to appear before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania, the Young Lawyer's Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and The Voice of the Defense Bar (DRI).
