About Marili
Marili Cancio practices in the areas of corporate, real estate, and international business law. Ms. Cancio has acted as general counsel for various mid-size companies in the construction industry handling business acquisitions, real estate transactions, negotiations of employment contracts, commercial disputes, trademark maintenance, and corporate structuring. She has also participated in numerous mergers, acquisitions and asset exchange transactions.
In addition, she has represented foreign banking institutions in obtaining money transmitter licenses in Florida and North Carolina and she represents local banks in commercial real estate and business loans. Ms. Cancio counsels companies operating in Latin America and foreign investors establishing and expanding companies in the U.S. In securities, Ms. Cancio has assisted in the formation of various funds, including the formation of trusts and trust agreements, formation of limited liability companies and the preparation of operating agreements, private placement memorandums and subscription agreements, and coordinating Blue Sky registration and maintenance.
Ms. Cancio is involved in numerous community organizations. She is the Chair of the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board for Miami-Dade County and a member of the Community Relations Board for Miami-Dade County. She has also been involved in planning fundraising events for the American Diabetes Association and the Alpha 1 Foundation.
