About Marion

Ms. Hubing is counsel in the Commercial Litigation Department and Reinsurance Practice Group.  She has extensive experience in complex insurance coverage including environmental and asbestos allocation as well as reinsurance transactions, arbitration and litigation.

Ms. Hubing represents ceding companies, reinsurers, property and casualty insurers.  She provides coverage opinions, and represents her clients in contract negotiations and dispute resolution.  Her reinsurance experience includes private arbitration, mediation and litigation in both state and federal courts.  She handles coverage matters involving employee benefits, sexual harassment, construction defects, termite and pest extermination, intellectual property and professional liability.  She also provides consulting services to other attorneys involving mathematical analysis including litigation risk analysis.

Ms. Hubing received her B.S. in chemical engineering in 1964 from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude with awards from the American Institute of Chemists, the American Society for Testing Materials, and Pi Mu Epsilon, the mathematics honor society.  She was the first female from Penn to become a member of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society.  She was also the first female to be elected president of the Engineering Alumni Society for the University of Pennsylvania.  Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science.  She worked as a chemical engineer for Rohm and Haas and Sun Oil Company for over twenty years.

Ms. Hubing received her J.D., magna cum laude, in 1990 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.  Her honors include the Order of the Coif and membership on the Moot Court Board.  She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and is admitted to appear before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.  She is a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Association of Alumnae of the University of Pennsylvania.
