About Mark

Mark is an experienced trial lawyer, having tried over 100 jury trials since being admitted to practice in 1993.  Mark has devoted nearly twenty-five years to the defense of people charged with criminal offenses, and has developed a reputation for fearless and creative advocacy.  From 1993 to 2001, Mark practiced in Indianapolis, Indiana.  In 2001, he moved to New Mexico to join the Capital Crimes Division of the New Mexico Public Defender Department.  He was admitted to practice in New Mexico in 2002.  In 2003, Mark joined the defense team for Terry Lynn Nichols, who faced the death penalty for his alleged role in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.  Mr. Nichols was ultimately sentenced to life imprisonment.   Upon his return to New Mexico, Mark opened his own practice, which focused on criminal defense and civil litigation.

In 2012, Mark began transitioning his practice from criminal defense to helping victims of accidents and medical malpractice.  Mark brings to this new practice area years of litigating novel issues in the context of complex cases.  Mark is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New Mexico and Indiana.

In addition to his legal practice, Mark has taught at numerous continuing education programs in Indiana, New Mexico and other states.  In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing golf and do-it-yourself home projects.
