About Mark
A native Texan, after obtaining his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Mark worked for 11 years as a research chemist, inventor, and group leader at Hoechst Celanese in Corpus Christi, Texas. During that time, Mark developed several patented inventions, including a commercialized method for the synthesis of ibuprofen that won the Environmental Protection Agency's Presidential Green Chemistry Award and the Kirkpatrick Award from Chemical Engineering Magazine. Mark's experiences at Hoechst Celanese included basic research, process development, piloting, commercial production, and business/market development. From 1995 to 1998, Mark attended the University of Texas Law School. From 1998 until 2007, Mark worked as an Associate and later as an Officer at Needle & Rosenberg P.C. of Atlanta, Georgia where he specialized in patent prosecution, licensing, opinion, opposition, due diligence, and litigation work, primarily related to chemical and pharmaceutical technologies. In 2007, Mark moved his practice to the Atlanta offices of Merchant & Gould, where he now serves as a Partner.
