Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

My client was charged with a felony DUI. It was his first charge ever and he was really scared. The prosecution was not making an offer. We had a few hearings and set a variety of motions until the prosecution finally gave us the offer we wanted. My client did not serve anytime and his DUI was not a felony.

How did you build a successful practice?

I spent almost a decade as a prosecutor and know criminal law well. It is the only type of law I practice and I know I can offer my knowledge and services to regular people.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Someone who knows the law. Someone familiar with the courts. Someone who can show they have provided favorable outcomes to their clients.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Choosing a local attorney is key. The judge is more fair and the prosecution knows you and your reputation. You get better outcomes.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

The consultation can give someone a likely roadmap of their case. They can at least know a spectrum of what could happen. It is vital someone takes in the information.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

My firm has case evaluation forms on my website which helps our firm obtain the needed information.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I am part of a small handful of San Diego Attorneys who have been a prosecutor. I was a prosecutor for almost a decade so I know the opposition.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

After working for the government, it is refreshing to help people. It is very rewarding.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I love to enjoy San Diego. We pay a healthy sum to live in the area. Whenever I get the chance I try to get out and enjoy it.

Are you involved in your community?

I frequently go out and speak to different organizations about their legal rights. I also coach for a son's sports team (which is a handful in of itself).
