About Mark
Backed by nearly 30 years of legal experience, Attorney Mark A. Hammer, founding attorney of The Hammer Law Firm, LLC, is dedicated to protecting the rights of those who have been accused of various crimes. Over the years, he has secured positive outcomes for many clients, including those accused of DUI, domestic violence, drug crimes, federal crimes, and much more.
He does not believe there is one standard of defense for all cases. As a result, he handles each case with unique precision. No matter what a client’s case may be, Mr. Hammer works diligently to see that his clients’ charges and penalties are reduced or dismissed in as little time as possible.
Before devoting his life to criminal defense, Mr. Hammer served as a prosecutor for more than 10 years. During that time, he acquired the necessary skills and knowledge it takes to fight on the opposite side of the courtroom. This experience gave him a cutting edge ability to negotiate pleas or pursue full jury trials to best defend the rights of individuals facing serious criminal charges.
Prior to dedicating his life to judiciary work, Mr. Hammer attended the University of Iowa where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1984. Following his undergraduate studies, he enrolled at University of Iowa College of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate. During his time in law school, Mr. Hammer served as the Associate Editor of the Iowa Law Review and a Case Editor for the Moot Court.
Currently, he holds memberships in various associations, including the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Bar Association of Metropolitan Saint Louis, and the Master of the Bench, Theodore McMillian American Inn Court.
