Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I handled a case that went up on appeal concerning what defects a home seller must disclose to a potential buyer. As a result of the appeal, the Illinois State Legislature amended the Illinois Residential Real Property Report. Every Seller is required to provide the report to every Buyer. So, the change to the Report has effected every residential real estate transaction throughout Illinois.
How did you build a successful practice?
Being responsive to my clients. Providing them with good legal advice at a fair and reasonable price. Getting to know my clients and treating them in a respectful, professional manner.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Someone who is going to take the time to understand exactly what the client is seeking to accomplish. Handling a clients case in a timely and cost effective manner.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
It can certainly play a role depending on the nature of the case. Having local contacts in different professions is a resource that I can make available to my clients. Knowing the disposition of the local judges can help provide insight into how a client's case should be tried.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I can respond quickly to my clients. I don't have to seek the approval of partners or other attorneys in handling a clients case. That helps me be fast and flexible in responding to my client's needs.
