About Matthew
Matthew Abel has over twenty years experience practicing law in Michigan, and has become known specifically for defense of criminal charges in marijuana cases. His work is directed toward repealing marijuana prohibition through the judicial process. Unfortunately, this most often consists of defending those accused of medical, religious, or recreational cannabis use, possession, cultivation and distribution. Too often, the government also seeks forfeiture of assets separate and apart from the criminal prosecution. The mission of Cannabis Counsel is to provide advice and representation for those accused of cannabis offenses. As marijuana prohibition continues to be repealed, the nature of the law practice is expected to change. Currently, representation includes patients, doctors, caregivers and cultivators, and religious adherents. One day soon, we expect to represent licensed, taxed and regulated merchants. In the meantime, if you need legal representation in a marijuana case anywhere in Michigan.
