About Matthew

Matthew was born in Dallas, Texas. Matthew attended the University of Dallas on a four-year academic scholarship and received his B.A. in Economics in 1992. He received his M.B.A. in Industrial Management in 1995 from the University of Dallas. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1997. Matthew served as an Articles Editor of the Review of Litigation. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas City Attorney's Association, Dallas Bar Association, Irving Bar Association, Tarrant County Bar Association, and Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. Matthew was recently presented the "Rising Star Award" at the 13th Annual Irving Academy of Community Service Awards. Matthew was also named a "Rising Star" in municipal and local government law by Texas Monthly magazine.

Matthew is a frequent speaker and author on all aspects of municipal and local government law. His speaking engagements include the Texas City Attorney's Association Annual Meeting, Public Contract Code and Competitive Bidding in Texas seminar in Fort Worth, Basics of Land Use and Zoning Regulations in Texas seminar in Dallas, and the Legal Issues in Code Enforcement and Building Inspection seminar in Arlington. Matthew is the City Attorney for city of Colleyville and the town of Argyle and currently serves as special counsel to the City of Irving's Community Development Block Grant Program and the City of Irving's Building and Standards Commission. Matthew is also the past President of Irving Cares, Vice Chairman of the National Alumni Board for the University of Dallas, Counsel to the Metroport Cities Partnership, and Counsel to the Greater Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce.
