About Matthew
Matt is an associate in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is based in our Minneapolis office and is a member of the Financial Institutions and Real Estate Section. Matt practices principally in the areas of:
- Environmental law and litigation
- Insurance coverage
- Construction defects
- Commercial litigation
A Minnesota native, Matt received his B.A. cum laude with departmental distinction from St. Olaf College, where his emphasis was in biology and environmental studies. He received his law degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was a member of the Minnesota Intellectual Property Review.
Prior to attending law school, Matt worked as an environmental consultant, focusing on site assessments, wetlands, and brownfield redevelopment. After earning his law degree, he practiced with another law firm, where he gained experience litigating environmental issues, insurance coverage, construction defects, and other civil matters. Matt has been named a "Minnesota Rising Star" by Minnesota Law & Politics. He joined Briggs in 2006.
