About Matthew
Mr. Machado primarily works in the Water Practice Group of the firm, and has ten years of experience assisting farmers, landowners, developers, ditch companies, special districts and municipalities in acquiring, selling, developing and protecting interests in water rights and land. He has also represented clients in appeals to the Colorado Supreme Court, and in proceedings in Water Court, as well as before the Colorado Ground Water Commission, Colorado State Engineer and Colorado Water Quality Control Commission.
Mr. Machado has obtained decrees for new tributary and nontributary water rights, plans for augmentation, changes of water rights, and diligence findings. He has also represented clients in transactions for the purchase and sale of land, easements and water rights. Mr. Machado is a member of the Colorado Water Congress and regularly attends meetings of the State Affairs Committee that advises the State General Assembly on pending legislative matters.
