About Matthew
After obtaining my Juris Doctorate degree from San Francisco Law School in 1995 and passing the California bar exam on my first attempt, I joined the California Bar and started my immigration law practice.
I knew from the outset that I wanted to create a small boutique immigration law practice focusing exclusively on family based immigration options for my clients, so I built my first website and started accepting cases. Around this same time I also became an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
One of my earliest clients was a young man who asked for my help in obtaining a fiancée visa for his girlfriend in Thailand so she could come to the USA for them to marry and start a family. That early case started me down the path that I continue to pursue to this day… bringing together families by helping people navigate the minefield that is U.S. immigration law.
I have assisted hundreds of U.S. citizens with their I-129f petition for alien fiancée, their spouse’s subsequent I-485 application for permanent resident status, the I-751 to remove the conditions on permanent resident status, and eventually the foreign spouse’s application for naturalization in order to become a U.S. citizen. I also help U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents with their I-130 petitions so their spouse, parent or children can come to the USA with an immigrant visa. Throughout all these cases, I’ve maintained a 100% approval rate.
In light of the fact that I’ve helped so many couples start their lives together in the USA; a colleague and fellow AILA member gave me the nickname, “The Juris Doctor Of Love”.
