About Maximilian
Mr. Barteau was born in Truro, England and moved to California in 1978. He graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland with a degree in Natural Sciences and Public Health. Mr. Barteau completed his legal education University of the Pacific's at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California.
Although he was born in England and grew up in Tulare, California, since 2001 he has made his home in the north state, where he currently lives with his wife, Charli, and their four children.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Barteau worked in commercial and residential real estate, information technology, and higher education. His professional experience includes an internship with the State of California Attorney General's office and an externship with the United States Attorney's Office, Civil Division. In 2004, Mr. Barteau established the Law Office of Maximilian G. Barteau.
In additional to his law practice, Mr. Barteau is highly involved in the Paradise and Chico communities volunteering on various nonprofit organizations and boards, including the Paradise Performing Arts Center, Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce, and Paradise Youth Sports and Family Center (Paradise Community Village project), which aims to provide parks and affordable housing to all area residents.
Mr. Barteau also co-owned and operated two restaurants with his wife from 2001 to 2012 and brings that practical knowledge of business to his law practice.

United States District Court, Eastern District of California
