Mr. Mike Talabi is the founder and managing partner of Talabi & Associates, P.C. Mr. Talabi received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center in 2002 and has been a licensed Texas lawyer since November 2002. Mr. Talabi is licensed to practice before all state courts in Texas, and the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He is also licensed to practice law in California. Prior to establishing Talabi & Associates, P.C., Mr. Talabi gained valuable experience in the fields of insurance defense, subrogation, plaintiff’s mass torts litigation, and immigration law at several prestigious local law firms. Mr. Talabi has tried cases to conclusion at the state district court level as well as before the Executive Office of Immigration Review (immigration courts). His current practice includes personal injury and immigration.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
We took a police shooting case all the way to the United States Supreme Court this year; Salazar-Limon v. City of Houston. While the Court did not grant us a review, there was extensive commentary on the case by several justices which was covered by many major news sources.
How did you build a successful practice?
Our practice is built on successful communication with our clients. We counsel each client fully on all matters regarding a case and are upfront about what is possible. Our lawyers are always ready to meet and address any questions our clients may have. We believe our clients are our best source of advertising and rely on them for referrals.

It is essential to know who your audience in a potential jury is. Therefore, a lawyer has to know and be an active member of the local community.
