About Melissa
Melissa Fecak, Esq. has over 14 years of experience in Family Law. She is one of the founding partners of Fecak & Williams, PC, a small family law firm serving the entire State of New Jersey. Ms. Fecak is experienced in all aspects of family law, including but not limited to divorce, child custody, child support, domestic violence, post-judgment matters, adoption and prenuptial agreements. It is Ms. Fecak’s belief that a family law firm should be able to offer their client’s multiple options in handling their case. As such, she is a trained mediator and collaborative practitioner and therefore able to provide alternative forms of dispute resolution.
Ms. Fecak was a Early Settlement Program panelist for three years in Hudson County. Born in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Melissa Fecak grew up in central New Jersey. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Toy Design, she interned with Tyco Toys. Ms. Fecak became one of the first graduates of FIT to go on to study law. She attended Seton Hall University School of Law at night, while working full time at Educational Testing Service and Prudential Insurance.
Ms. Fecak worked for ten years at a small firm in Jersey City, New Jersey. In 2011, she decided she needed a change and relocated to Philadelphia. It was shortly thereafter, that Ms. Fecak decided to start her own firm where she could practice family law the way she thought it should be done. After conferring with her former coworker, Pegeen Williams, Esq., together they decided to start Fecak & Williams, P.C in early 2012. Since starting her own firm, Ms. Fecak has been actively involved in several organizations.
She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators. Ms. Fecak is a member of the board of the Mid-Jersey Collaborative Law Alliance and the Vice President of the South Jersey Collaborative Law Group. Ms. Fecak also sits on the New Jersey Council of Collaborative Practice Groups.
