After earning her law degree from SMU Dedman School of Law, Meredythe began her legal career in Dallas at a boutique commercial litigation firm before returning home to Austin to be closer to family. Once back, she spent over a decade representing insurance companies in personal injury cases, gaining firsthand knowledge of the strategies insurers use to delay, deny, and undervalue claims. As a former partner at a statewide insurance defense firm, she eventually grew frustrated watching insurers prioritize profits over people.

In 2023, Meredythe joined forces with Mark McLean, a seasoned Austin personal injury lawyer, to form Heaton McLean Personal Injury Lawyers.
