About Michael

Michael D. Joblove leads the firm's commercial litigation practice, which focuses on franchise, real estate, employment and securities litigation. In franchising, the Firm provides national franchise counsel to Burger King Corporation, which is headquartered in Miami, and handles Burger King Corporation's litigation with respect to franchisees throughout the United States. Mr. Joblove also has represented numerous other franchisors, including Jamba Juice Company, T.G.I. Friday's, Steak and Ale, Bennigan's, Pearle Vision, Inc., Denny's, Inc., Assist-2-Sell, and Pollo Campero.

Mr. Joblove's extensive real estate litigation practice has included a plethora of matters including major construction defect cases, land use and zoning matters, development concurrency issues, claims involving construction financing of condominium developments and foreclosures of commercial properties. He has successfully defended class action suits alleging construction defects as well as dynamite blasting in connection with the excavation for planned communities.

Mr. Joblove is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been selected by his peers to be listed in Best Lawyers in America, has been ranked as one of the country's leading franchise attorneys by Chambers & Partners USA, has been named as among Florida's top attorneys by Florida Trend magazine and South Florida Legal Guide, has been recognized by Franchise Times magazine as one of the nation's leading franchise attorneys, and is included as a Super Lawyer in the Florida Super Lawyers publication. In addition, Mr. Joblove has been selected by Who's Who Legal, which describes him as a stellar practitioner, to appear in the International Who's Who of Franchise Lawyers and the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers.

Recently, Mr. Joblove was honored by the Florida House of Representatives which appointed him as a Commissioner to the Florida Commission on Ethics. The Commission is an independent nine-member commission which interprets and applies Florida's ethics laws by taking action on the disposition of complaints, the recommendation of penalties, and the issuance of legal opinion.

Mr. Joblove is a lecturer before the American Bar Association and the International Franchise Association on franchise law topics, and is on the advisory board of the International Franchise Association Supplier Forum. He co-authored the Annual Franchise and Distribution Law Developments book, published by the American Bar Association, and has published articles on franchise law for the National Law Journal, New York Law Journal, Franchise Times and the American Bar Association.
