About Michael
Michael Elliott graduated from the University of Houston in 1992 with a degree in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology. Following his graduation from college, Michael attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
After graduating from law school in 1995, Michael began his legal career working with a Houston law office that specialized in personal injury and real estate law. Michael wanted more immediate experience in litigation. It was with this desire that he went to work for the Galveston County District Attorney's office in 1996. As an Assistant District Attorney under Michael J. Guarino, Michael started out in the Misdemeanor Section and worked his way up to the Felony Section. As a Felony Prosecutor, it was not long before Michael was promoted to Chief Prosecutor.
As a Chief Prosecutor, Michael has litigated numerous jury trials to final verdict. During his nine years of service, he has litigated everything from Driving While Intoxicated cases to Possession and Delivery cases to Capital Murder. His position in the District Attorney's office made him responsible for analyzing cases and making tough decisions regarding how cases should be handled. As an Assistant District Attorney, Michael learned the importance of preparation and treating people fairly. As an Assistant District Attorney, Michael had over a 90 percent conviction rate.
Michael was one of a select group of prosecutors selected by the Texas District and County Attorney's Association as an instructor and traveled across Texas teaching prosecutors on various aspects of Jury Trial Advocacy and Jury Trial Skills. His years of experience have afforded him the ability to view the cases from all sides and find weakness in any position.
Michael believes in service. After a very successful career as Chief Prosecutor, Michael left the District Attorney's office to become a partner in Ibrahim & Elliott, LLP. With Michael Elliott as your attorney, you have a winner, a fighter and someone who will protect your interest!
