Having practiced law since 1997, Attorney Michael J. Grilli has learned that when people come to you in their time of need, you need to be dedicated to not only achieving their desired result but also walking them through the process with a sense of understanding and compassion. His promise to every client is that they will be represented aggressively and that their case will get his utmost attention and effort.

Attorney Grilli has represented clients in the Probate and Family Court in Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, Berkshire, and Worcester counties. In addition, he has successfully represented clients in criminal matters in District and Superior Courts throughout Massachusetts.

A lifelong resident of Western Massachusetts, Attorney Grilli grew up in Springfield and attended Western New England University School of Law. He decided to become a lawyer and to practice in Springfield because it is his home, and there is nowhere else that he would want to raise his family and pursue his career.

How did you build a successful practice?
The key to building a successful practice is to devote your energy to each of your clients. Each client deserves your full effort and attention and the lawyer must understand that while you may have dozens of cases that need your attention, the client’s case to them is the only one that matters.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients need to look for someone who not only understands the law but who also knows what the client wants to achieve and has a plan to try to reach their goals. A good attorney will always tell the client what the strengths and weaknesses of their case may be and give them a realistic sense of what a successful outcome would look like.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is one of the most important aspects of any case. You want a lawyer who knows and can work with the other lawyers in the case and has a good knowledge of the Judge that will be hearing your case. It is equally important that whoever the Judge has knowledge of who your lawyer is and that they can be trusted to present a good case on behalf of their client.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
A free consultation allows me to get a sense of the case and the issues that are going to be dealt with. It also allows me to get a sense of the client and for the client to get a sense of me to gauge if this will be a good working relationship.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I need to know what you think the issues are going to be and who represents your spouse. I don’t need specific financial information but at least a thumbnail sketch of your finances.
