About Michael

Mike McKeen graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 2008.  During law school, he served as Treasurer for the Student Intellectual Property Law Association and competed in the Cardozo/BMI Entertainment and Communications Law Moot Court.  He also participated in preparing amicus briefs in the cases of In re Bilski, 545 F.3d 943, 88 U.S.P.Q.2d 1385 (Fed. Cir. 2008) (en banc) and Tafas v. Dudas, 511 F. Supp. 2d 652, 86 U.S.P.Q.2d 1548 (E.D. Va 2007).

Prior to attending law school, Mike graduated with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2005.  While attending the University, he oversaw the chassis/suspension group of student engineers for the University's FSAE (Formula Society of Automotive Engineers) team and participated in the design, fabrication, testing, and competition of the team's open-wheel, single seat FSAE race car.  During college, Mike also interned at dhy Corporation where he worked in Quality Assurance. 

In his free time, Mike is restoring a 1941 Piper J-3 Cub.  He also enjoys playing guitar, fishing, and playing hockey.   

Mike is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association.
