About Michael
Michael S. Shipwash (a.k.a. Lawyer Mike) was born in Titusville, Florida, September 30, 1969. Lawyer Mike, a disabled veteran, served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War (1988 – 1991) and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for Exceptionally Meritorious Service. Lawyer Mike received his B.A. from the University of Florida in 1994. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence, graduating cum laude and in the top 10% of his class, from the University of Memphis in 1997. He was admitted to the Tennessee bar in 1998 and has maintained his own solo practice in Knoxville, Tennessee and surrounding counties since 2005. He has a strong background in representing Corporations and Insurance companies. He is now able to bring his experience to you on the personal injury side.

Hard work and perseverance, along with honesty.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should look for a lawyer that is straightforward and honest about their potential case. They need to seek out a lawyer that will tell them the truth, even though they may not like what they hear.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
We believe that it is important to have knowledge and connections with other attorneys and judges in the local area.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
In a free phone consultation, we will be able to provide guidance on a client's potential case. We also would be able to schedule a date and time for them to meet with the attorney face-to-face.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
This would depend on the case, but would need further details about the potential case. The first questions would be when did it happen and how did it happen. From there, it would be more detailed questions about that particular case.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I am down to earth and able to be empathic to my clients. I am been told that I am unlike other attorneys that client's have spoken or met with.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Being able to see the gratitude from clients when I settle their case. Just getting a thank you means so much to me.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I enjoy music, movies, that sort of thing.

I believe I am involved through the practice of law.
