About Michael
Michael McNamara earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Minors in Criminal Justice and Marketing from Eastern Michigan University. He continued his education at Madonna University and the University of Detroit School of Law. He received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Detroit in 1993. He was employed as a full time law clerk at Sullivan, Ward, Bone, Tyler & Asher, P.C. while working towards his law degree. He was a litigation attorney from 1994 through March 1999 at one of Michigan's largest law firms focusing his practice on medical malpractice, municipal law, product liability and business law. He continued as a litigation attorney at a Northville Michigan law firm from 1999 through 2003 representing various business enterprises, associations and individuals. In 2003 he joined Angelo A. Plakas & Associates, P.C. and became an Assistant City Attorney for the city of Westland and continued his litigation practice. In 2009 he rejoined Fausone Bohn, LLP in Northville. He has handled cases involving environmental law, construction law, municipal law, business law, real estate and probate. He is responsible for handling cases from initial investigation through trial. He has successfully represented clients in state and federal courts. Among the construction law cases, was a trial resulting in a multimillion dollar jury verdict for a condominium association for construction defects. He also has experience in alternative dispute resolution such as arbitration, mediation and facilitation.
He continues to focus his practice on municipal law, criminal and civil litigation, business law and real estate.
