Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I handled a client violation of probation that was outstanding for years. During the course of the time that the violation was outstanding the client had moved on with his life and was living sober and had a successful career. I was able to keep the client from being put in jail and ultimately dismissed.
How did you build a successful practice?
I strive to complete all client issues to the end. There is nothing worse then hiring an attorney and then having to hire another attorney. I have always set expectations on the front end so that a potential client understands the cost moving forward.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Honesty and transparently. You want a lawyer that will tell you the facts and the law. Not someone that tells you what you want to hear. Further you need to know what the status of your case is at all times. Communication is key. At Shults Law Office we will return a client's call the same day they call if we are in the office. This makes it easy to communicate and progress your matter.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Very important. Every courthouse is different, while we all follow the same laws, courts are ran by people and no two clerks or judges are the same.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
A lot! I can address the best way to move forward to possible outcomes in the case. Also if it is a matter that my office is not the most knowledgeable in then I can refer a client to an attorney to receive the best representation possible.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
Just the facts of your legal issue. Maybe a list of witnesses or parties involved.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Communication, we strive to be the office that contacts our clients back the fastest. Whether it be a week night or weekend. We try to resolve any issues that might arise during the representation.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
I get to help my client in difficult times. A lawyer usually is someone you would not want to have to associate with that often but I believe all my previous clients are always happy to run into me out in the community.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I enjoy fishing, boating and spending time with my family. My daughter is most beautiful gift I could have ever asked for. My wife of course is a close second, I can say that because she would say the same.
Are you involved in your community?
I am very involved in my community. I support most if not all the local schools, may it be football or cheerleading or even basketball, I always try to help teams and young members of the community when I can. I am a local boy, so the community and the local schools made me into the person that I am today.
