About Michelle
Michelle M. Koeth focuses her practice at Staas & Halsey, LLP, in patent prosecution with areas of expertise in the fields of software, communication devices, and electronics. Ms. Koeth has prepared and prosecuted patent applications with both domestic and foreign clients.
A lifelong enthusiast of computer multimedia and communication technology, in high school Ms. Koeth obtained her amateur radio license and worked as a sound production technician for her high school.
During her undergraduate studies in electrical and computer engineering, Ms. Koeth focused her studies on multimedia signal processing, software engineering and computer graphics. She worked as a software engineering intern in both industry and academia including internships at a government communications technology contractor, L-3 Communications, and at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, a Department of Energy managed high-energy physics laboratory.
Before law school, Ms. Koeth worked for four years as a communications analyst and application developer for a large multinational insurance company, where she acquired certification as a Sun Java Certified Programmer and was the recipient of an award for excellence in customer service.
Ms. Koeth received her Juris Doctor degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she also completed a certificate program in Intellectual Property, and received a
Ms. Koeth is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers.
