About Mindy
Mindy L. Hitchcock has practiced law in Michigan for over 30 years. Using her extensive background in communication, she couples these skills with her legal expertise to achieve remarkable results for her clients. In 2016, Mindy was ranked as one of the Top 10 Michigan Attorneys in Family Law by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, and recognized as one of the 10 Best Female Attorneys in Michigan for client satisfaction, by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. She has written extensively in the areas of family law and personal development for many years. Mindy has also used her “think outside the box” approach to create unique programs unlike any other, such as the Family Transition Plan and the No Parent Left Behind Plan, aimed at reducing client’s costs and hours spent in court. Clients using such programs have called it a “godsend.”
Mindy constantly expands and builds upon her strengths with additional training that goes deeper than the confines of traditional family law, such as psychodrama workshops at Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming, founded by the world-renown Attorney, Gerry Spence. This enables her to understand the feelings and needs of her clients as well as the “opponent,” so that she can work with her client to achieve a win-win result which is sensitive to the needs of all. This is particularly important in the area of family law, where the battle often continues past the end of the legal case, to the detriment of the children. Mindy believes that a resolution which meets the needs of both parties is best, because it eliminates the desire to use the children against the other as a means of revenge. It is also true in cases with no children, since parties in family law cases often have interrelated networks of friends and family who are all affected by the divorce and want to remain close to both parties. Still, there are times when such a resolution is not possible, and there must be a strong fight. Mindy has successfully engaged in many of those.
