Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I worked with the medical practice which had one of the first physicians contracting and passing away from COVID-19. I worked with the practice and the department of health, in communications with their employees and patients, to ensure their safety, as well as with the various payers, to ensure continuation of care. Worked with practice in implementing virtual patient visits, so practice could continuing operating and patients could continue receiving ongoing care. Navigated the practice through many issues, including obtaining a PPP loan and negotiating for the purchase of the deceased physician shareholder’s shares in the practice.

How did you build a successful practice?

By becoming knowledgeable in my areas of practice and always being open to new ideas! As I am also a CPA, that we do not actively practice in that capacity, as well as having my L.LM which is a masters of law in taxation, allows me to provide additional insight to my business clients. Most of all, I enjoy working with my clients and helping them succeed! My clients know that I am always available when needed, even at night weekends and while I am on vacation. I have worked with over 95% of my clients are over the past five years and relish my long-term relationships with them!

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

A lawyer who takes a personal interest in them and their specific legal needs. How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

It is critical to have local knowledge based upon specific matters relevant to my clients. This way, I am able to temper their expectations and provide them with guidance as to what is reasonable or not reasonable to expect in their specific circumstances

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

A brief background of my knowledge and experience in the matter they are calling about, getting an understanding of their particular matter and needs and letting them know if and how I may be able to be of assistance to them. During such time the goal is to provide the prospective client with a game plan and estimated cost for the engagement.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

A brief summary of their legal question, need or problem with which they need assistance, their geographic location and time frame for proceeding in the matter.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Aside from my 30+ years of experience and additional knowledge as a CPA and tax attorney, my well I guess to listen to my clients questions, problems and needs, prior to attempting to provide advice or guidance, as well as being responsive to their needs. My clients know that I will always return their phone calls before the end of the day and that I am available nights and weekends, when the need arises.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

While it may sound corny, it is the ability to help clients with their specific legal needs or problems and leaving them in a much better place than when we started..

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I love to travel, I am an avid photographer, and have trained for many years in a martial arts.
