Attorney Josh Mintz is a native Houstonian who grew up around the law, becoming the 7th lawyer in his family when obtaining his J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of the Law (San Francisco) in 2003. Since then, Josh has developed a rare mix of expertise as both a lawyer and businessperson in a wide variety of professional organizations, including the California firm Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, the Am Law 100 international law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, and the Beaumont, TX based firm Waldman Smallwood. He supplemented this experience with several years managing multi-million dollar business segments for retailers UncommonGoods and Design Within Reach, and the media company behind Dwell magazine. After spending much of his childhood in Southwest Houston, Josh moved to Kingwood in 1990 and later graduated from Kingwood High School in 1996. He spent his first half of college at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) as part of the LSA Honors Program, before transferring to the University of Texas (Austin) and graduating with a B.A. in 2000. After several years in New York City, Josh gladly returned home to Houston in 2014 where he now lives with his wife, Dr. Emily Mintz, and their three children.

Kimberly Player Washington is a family law attorney who joined the firm in 2015. After beginning her legal career in the areas of family law and general civil representation, Kimberly worked as a legal consultant for Hewlett-Packard. She changed her practice focus when she realized that what she valued most about legal work was the ability to help people in their times of need. Today, she draws upon her extensive legal background to assist clients with a broad range of family-related legal matters. She is particularly passionate about helping parents protect their relationships with their children and make important decisions with their children’s long-term best interests in mind. A significant portion of Kimberly’s practice is devoted to representing clients in divorces and related matters. Kimberly represents clients outside of the divorce context as well. She has helped protect mothers’ and fathers’ rights in adoption and conservatorship proceedings, and she has handled numerous cases involving the custody rights of unmarried parents. She also represents parents and other family members regarding a broad range of other family-related legal issues. Whether Kimberly is drafting a prenuptial agreement, helping to establish paternity or simply helping a client better understand his or her circumstances, she takes the same personal, compassionate and strategic approach regardless of the specific issues involved.

Peter Sayadzad is an associate attorney at Bryan Fagan, PLLC, and focuses his practice on family law matters. Peter previously practiced at The Montgomery County Women’s Center in Conroe, Texas, where he gained invaluable experience assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.He uses this experience in advocating for his clients at our firm, and strives to make a difference in the lives of his clients and their children. Peter believes in educating those he represents and explaining to them how the law can assist them in their particular situation. He goes the extra mile to give each and every client the best chance at success. In his personal time, Peter is an avid camper and hiker, and enjoys spending time on the water with his lovely longtime girlfriend, Vanessa, and their dog, Tenny.

Reneka Hayes is an associate family law attorney at Bryan Fagan, PLLC. Prior to joining the firm, Reneka was a solo practitioner. She is passionate in assisting her clients by providing them with the zealous advocacy they require. She also believes mediation is a useful tool that allows parties to have a say in any settlement that is reached. When not practicing law, Reneka enjoys listening to music, dancing, and catching up with the latest series on Netflix.

This independent mother of one is working her dream job of being an attorney. Her experience is mainly in family and criminal law. However, Haley has a passion for helping children and families who might need extra guidance with their legal matters. Her mother is the inspiration behind Haley pursuing her dreams. Carl Ritter is a senior attorney at Bryan Fagan, PLLC, representing clients in family law and estate planning matters. Carl doesn’t shy away from the cases involving parties with difficult pasts, or cases involving Child Protective Services (CPS). He is a fierce advocate for clients that are attempting to keep or regain custody of their children, and he also provides assistance to grandparents who are fighting for their grandchildren. He has also spent 10 years as an attorney with the Office of the Attorney General in Texas. Carl and his wife of 25 years recently relocated to Houston to be near their two children who attend school at Texas A&M and Houston Baptist University.
