Mona holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. Additionally, she obtained her Juris Doctorate from Chapman University School of Law in 2005, followed by an LL.M. in Taxation in 2006. Mona's notable accomplishments include being honored with the Patricia Herzog Pro Bono Service Award from The Legal Aid Society of Orange County in 2015. She made history as the first attorney in Orange County, CA, to secure legal recognition for a child with more than two parents, representing the child's biological father, biological mother, and stepfather as legal parents.
