About Morgan

Morgan Cox attended Regent University School of Law where she was chosen to be a summer fellow with Equal Justice Works (formerly the National Association for Public Interest Law). As a fellow, Ms. Cox worked at the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg's Domestic Violence Legal Clinic in Pennsylvania, enhancing community development as well as aiding in the representation of victims of domestic violence. Subsequently, Ms. Cox volunteered in the legal clinic at the Samaritan House, a safe harbor for women and children in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Ms. Cox was a recipient of the Virginia Law Foundation Fund for Justice and Education Public Service Grant, allowing her to clerk for a summer at the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia's Senior Law Center in Norfolk, Virginia.  While in law school, Ms. Cox was a board member of the Regent University Law Review.

After law school, Ms. Cox clerked for the Family Court of the State of Delaware. As a law clerk, Ms. Cox observed trials, researched pertinent statutory and case law, and drafted decisions regarding adoption, child custody, relocation, alimony, property division, and termination of parental rights. Ms. Cox routinely drafted appeal decisions of Commissioners' Orders, making a determination whether a Commissioner erred in calculating child support, awarding a Protection from Abuse Order, or finding a juvenile delinquent. Ms. Cox also drafted proposed changes to legislation affecting the Family Court in Delaware. In an effort to reduce fatal incidents of domestic violence, Ms. Cox drafted and helped to implement a Writ of Sequestration used by Commissioners granting the police authority to take weapons out of an abuser's possession before being served with a Protective Order. In addition to her judicial clerkship duties, Ms. Cox was a member of both the Juvenile Justice Reform Committee and the Commission on Runaway Youth for the State of Delaware
