About Nelson
Nelson Tomas Pena, Esq.
Nelson has resided in our community for over thirty years, and as a result has developed a special understanding of the history and culture of the people of South Florida. He is a graduate of Florida International University and Nova Southeastern Law School. Since 1990 Nelson has represented his clients successfully in both the civil and criminal arenas.
Nelson began his legal career as an assistant public defender in Miami, from 1990-2000. Through the years, he has represented clients successfully in cases ranging from DUI and other misdemeanors to homicides and other serious felonies. He is a firm believer that the greatest victories are not necessarily the glamour trials, but instead the countless number of cases he has been able to resolve, before trial, through the use of motions to dismiss and motions to suppress, which can result in dismissal or dropping of charges.
In his years of practice, Nelson has developed a reputation as a strong litigator and advocate for his clients. Since 1990 Nelson has litigated in federal and state courts on both civil and criminal cases. Throughout the years, Nelson has amassed over one hundred jury trials and numerous victories prior to trial. Nelson's goal always remains to obtain the desired result as quickly as possible, without jeopardizing his client's interests.
Nelson sees his role as a liaison between his clients and whatever assistance they need. All the work is either done by him personally, or at his direction. Anytime any of the Firm's clients have a problem, Nelson is a source of valuable information and guidance.
