Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
It depends on how you define \"big difference.\" The majority of my cases involve motor vehicle accidents or premise liability cases. The settlement money received is an attempt to make my clients whole for the injuries they endured. Some of my workers compensation cases provide money a client needs for the remainder of his/her life. They often take the settlement money to return to school or train for a light duty job. Others take the settlement money to open their open businesses because they can not personally work. It is a big difference in their life because We help our injured clients have a better quality of life.
How did you build a successful practice?
The successful practice is the network of resources I have at my disposal. If the client is successful, then naturally the law firm is successful.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
it is really about knowing the \"ins and out\" of the area you practice. A lot of the practical experience is on the job experience with no manuals to refer to. I now could accommodate any new personal injury client and direct him/her to the right places. They need to be advised on how to avoid traps that will jeopardize their case.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
It is not that important. The internet now easily provides referrals a person needs, such as a product or service. For example, if a client needs a new orthopedic, we often perform online searches to find the right specialist.

A free consultation in a personal injury case is to determine whether a prospective client has a \"good case\" worth pursuing.

None really. If they do not have it, we could always follow-up with another consultation.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I put the client first even it hurts me personally. I believe it is the risk you have to take. Treat people like you want to be treated. I would want someone else to do the same thing for me.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The results obtained and a satisfied client.

Are you involved in your community?
I volunteer at the local homeless shelter. I also have an organized group of attorneys for fund raising events needed for the shelter. We also provide an active food and clothes drive with an emphasis on a supply of winter coats. I was able to find 8 supporters within a six month period.
