SOHAIL SHAHPAR, ESQ. (2006, Hofstra University School of Law). Since 1999 Mr. Shahpar has worked as a Major League Baseball Players Association Certified Agent representing clients in contract negotiations, endorsement deals, and arbitration. Mr. Shahpar joined the Firm in 2008 and specializes his practice to employment matters such as contracts and severance agreements. Mr. Shahpar is licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York.

Jonathan has taken a personal approach to lawyering that is styled around client interaction, efficiency and the utmost attention to detail. Jonathan is motivated by protecting the rights of others and strives to maximize results. He passionately represents personal injury, real estate, criminal expungement, and contractual matter clients. Prior to joining The Law Offices of Herbert Ellis, PC, Jonathan clerked with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, working closely with the Appeals Department. Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor degree from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2013 where he focused his studies on personal injury and contract law. Jonathan received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Boston University School of Management in 2010. While attending Boston University, Jonathan served as Co-Captain of the University’s Mock Mediation Team, and competed nationally. He is admitted to the Federal Districts of New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. His areas of law practice consist of plaintiff’s injury representation, workers’ compensation claims. He is the managing partner of the firm, with an undergraduate degree of Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He also serves as a Board Member and Officer in various for profit and not for profit businesses in the Southern New Jersey Area. He was a staff writer for the Delaware Law Forum. He is married with two children. He is a South Jersey native, a graduate of Cherry Hill High School West. He is an alumnus of the Sigma Alpha Rho fraternity, Epsilon chapter, and Sigma Omicron Beta Fraternity at FDU Metro Campus. He played NCAA Varsity Lacrosse 1979 and 1980 at FDU.

JUAN L. ICAZA, was born in Cuba in 1965. He and his family came to America in 1971 and resided in New York City. He graduated from Seton Hall University and Seton Hall Law School. Mr. Icaza then joined the Newark firm of Bross, Strickland, Cary & Grossman as an associate and rose to become its managing partner at the age of 29. He and Robert R. Cary formed the firm of Cary & Icaza in 1996 and in 2009 renamed the firm to Icaza & Burgess maintaining a relationship with Robert Cary as office counsel. Mr. Icaza has been practicing law since 1990 specializing in personal injury cases involving medical malpractice, lead and toxic torts, automobile accidents and products liability. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey , Federal District Court of New Jersey and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Icaza is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, Essex County Bar Association and The Association of Trial lawyers of America. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
