Bio As a co-founder and partner at Basch & Keegan, Maureen A. Keegan (Moe) has practiced personal injury law exclusively since 1986. Maureen’s areas of practice include all aspects of civil litigation, medical malpractice, wrongful death, automobile and trucking claims, product and premises liability. Initially, Ms. Keegan worked for a medical malpractice defense firm in New York City. Based in Kingston for the last 30 years, Moe has successfully represented clients throughout the Hudson Valley, greater New York City, and Capital District areas. Before studying law, Keegan worked as a Pharmacist and a Pharmacy Resident at Johns Hopkins and at other teaching hospitals in New York State. She has been a Super Lawyer and Top 100 Trial Lawyer of New York State. Over the years, Keegan has successfully represented thousands of injury victims and is widely known as a successful and knowledgeable attorney in the Hudson Valley. She and her husband Dave have two children, Ryan and Jane, who both graduated from Kingston High School. Jane is currently teaching math at Brooklyn Tech, and Ryan was awarded an MBA from Stanford in June, 2021. Moe enjoys the outdoors and is an active sculler and member of the Rondout Row Club. She and Dave enjoy travelling and exploring the hike and bike trails in Ulster, Dutchess, Greene and Columbia County.

Byron A. Bilicki is the firm's founder and managing shareholder. Mr. Bilicki's 20 years experience includes trials and appeals involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, false advertising, and unfair competition. His patent prosecution experience has covered diverse fields such as medical devices, optical equipment, consumer products, automotive and heavy-duty truck parts, ultrasonic transducers, and computer technology and software. He has also litigated high-stakes patent and trademark cases involving well-known marks, as well as trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In addition to litigation, Mr. Bilicki has done extensive work in IP due diligence and licensing. He also regularly advises clients as to patent infringement and validity issues and the availability of trademarks for registration and use. Prior to founding the firm in 1993, Mr. Bilicki practiced with Morgan & Finnegan’s New York City office and Kirkpatrick Lockhart Nicholson & Graham’s Pittsburgh office. Mr. Bilicki received a Bachelor of Science degree (Chemistry major) from Allegheny College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was a published member of the Law Review. Mr. Bilicki is admitted to practice before the bars of New York and Pennsylvania, as well as several federal district courts, and courts of appeals, including the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Bilicki is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Bilicki's professional affiliations include the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association, and the New York Bar Association.

Mr. Klipstein concentrates in two areas of the law: 1. Trusts and Estates, Estate Planning, Wills, Estate Administration, and Estate, Gift and Income Tax matters related to estates and trusts; 2. Immigration and Naturalization. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1960 and is admitted to the Bars of the U.S. Supreme Court, United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Klipstein received an A.B. Degree from Columbia College in 1957, his J.D. Degree from Columbia Law School in 1960 (where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar), and an LLM in Taxation from the New York University Law School, Graduate Division in 1965. He is a member of the American Bar Association, N.Y. State Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York County Lawyers Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Judges Association, and the Westchester County Bar Association. He has been or is a member or Chairman of various committees at these Bar Associations for may years. Mr. Klipstein contributed to Drafting New York Wills, Law and Forms, published by Matthew Bender (Lexis). He has also been an Arbitrator in the Small Claims Part of N.Y. City Civil Court (N.Y. County) since 1971.
